In a blog post, the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) said there are developments in the state pilot program for veterans and assisted living.
President Biden signed the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act into law. This bill creates a pilot program for eligible veterans to receive assisted living care, NCAL said.
The pilot is scheduled to start later this fall in Maine and Ohio. “The VA is expected to release an official FAQ document and communications plan outlining next steps in the near future,” NCAL said in the post.
NCAL is part of a broad coalition of senior advocacy, veterans' service, homeless prevention, and health and aging services organizations that have long supported the bill.
